BOSTON (AP) - Republican Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker says he can’t foresee anything happening in the first presidential debate that would change his mind about the candidates.
Baker has repeatedly said that he does not plan to vote for either Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Hillary Clinton.
The governor told reporters he plans to watch the debate Monday night and hopes the discussion will be about “the issues and not the personalities.” But he says he doesn’t think either candidate could say anything that would change his mind and win his support.
Baker says Trump lacks the temperament to be president and Clinton has what he calls a believability problem.
Baker has also ruled out voting for a third-party candidate on the ballot.
