LAS VEGAS (AP) - An artist’s likeness of a naked Donald Trump didn’t last long in a parking lot near a downtown Las Vegas music festival site.
The statue of the Republican presidential nominee was knocked down and sprayed with graffiti overnight. It was removed Friday from a corner near the Life is Beautiful festival venue.
All that remained was a pedestal with two pink feet attached, The Las Vegas Review-Journal (https://bit.ly/2dgwWEF) reported.
Las Vegas police Officer Michael Rodriguez had no immediate information about the incident.
The statue was spotted Wednesday outside festival grounds. However, a festival spokeswoman said the event had no involvement in its display.
Life is Beautiful, a three-day outdoor music and arts festival, is in its fourth year and features dozens of performers. Headliners this year include Mumford & Sons, J. Cole, Major Lazer, The Lumineers, G-Eazy, Empire of the Sun, Jane’s Addiction and Bassnectar.
The vandalism in Las Vegas comes after life-sized Trump statues disappeared this week in Miami and in New Jersey.
The statues were produced by Las Vegas artist Joshua Monroe. They first appeared in August in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle.
