ASHBURN — Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson is expected to play on Sunday against the New York Giants after sustaining a knee and ankle injury in last week’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Jackson did not participate in practice on Wednesday, but progressed during the week with two “good” practices on Thursday and Friday.
“He’ll be ready to roll,” Gruden said.
Along with Jackson, left tackle Trent Williams was a full participant on Friday after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday with a knee injury.
Defensive end Kendall Reyes is out with a groin injury and did not practice this week after being inactive against the Cowboys. The Redskins depth on the defensive line took another hit when nose tackle Kedric Golston tore his hamstring on the first play against the Cowboys. Golston was placed on injured reserve on Monday and the Redskins signed rookie defensive end Matt Ioannidis to replace him on the roster.
Chris Baker is questionable with rib, elbow, toe and knee injuries. In the first two games, the Redskins defensive end has logged 96 defensive snaps, the most on the team.
Wide receiver Josh Doctson (Achilles tendon tendonitis), inside linebackers Martrell Spaight (concussion protocol) and Su’a Cravens (hip flexor), offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe (foot) and center Kory Lichtensteiger (back spasms) are all questionable.
