WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Police in Wilmington won’t charge a man who posted a video of officers interviewing three children and his own rant.
The News Journal reports (https://delonline.us/2ctnP2c ) that as a crowd of 200 gathered outside police headquarters Thursday night, Chief Bobby Cummings said Damieon Flowers, whose video had 4.2 million views by Friday, wouldn’t be charged.
On Monday, Flowers livestreamed video of officers taking down boys’ names and questioning them. When an officer refers to “serious problems” along the Riverfront, Flowers tells them to catch the perpetrator and “leave them little boys alone.” Later, Flowers vents to the camera, saying he was about to hit the officer.
Flowers said police came to his home Thursday and he’d surrender later. Flowers’ friend Cheris Lockett says during a discussion inside headquarters, both sides said they were at fault.
