Brad Pitt did engage in a heated argument with his teenage son aboard his private plane recently, but no physical altercation occurred, two separate, unnamed sources told E! News.

Two separate sources confirmed there was no physical abuse, E! News said on Friday afternoon. “There was no punching, and there was no inappropriate contact,” the Hollywood-focused news site quoted a source. “This was a very normal family argument.”

Mr. Pitt’s wife of two years, actress Angelina Jolie, filed for divorce five days later, E! News noted. In her filing she reportedly has requested sole custody of the couple’s six children.

E! added that, contrary to previous reporting, the FBI was not investigating the airplane incident.
