(AP) - In a story Sept. 2 about the search for a new University of Arizona president, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the chairman of the Board of Regents said the search was being rushed. The regents said the search would be handled expeditiously but the chairman said it would not be rushed.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - The state Board of Regents’ chairman says he anticipates a new University of Arizona president will be selected and in place by next summer.
That would be a year before current President Ann Weaver Hart’s current contract expires, and it’s not clear what her role would be.
Regents Chairman Greg Patterson said the search for a replacement would not be rushed.
The board has outlined a months-long process that including appointing a committee to help the board evaluate prospects.
Hart announced in June she wouldn’t seek a contract renewal.
She became president in 2012 and led amid growth in enrollment, tuition increases and the merger of the university’s hospital with Banner Health.
She drew fire this year after joining the board of the company that operates for-profit DeVry University.
