Former Mexican President Vicente Fox held himself back from some potentially salty language Thursday in proclaiming that his country is not going to pay for Donald Trump’s wall on the United States’ southern border.

“That is absolutely certain. We are not going to pay for that F — I’m going to be moderate today — that F wall,” Mr. Fox said on CNN’s “New Day.” “It’s a crazy idea, and I don’t know why U.S. citizens, taxpayers accept they will pay for the wall.”

“That wall is built. No way Mexico will pay for it. We are a smaller nation than [the] United States, but we have our pride, we have our dignity, and we have our ways of solving our own problems,” Mr. Fox said.

Mr. Fox had earlier followed through with the actual obscenity in declaring he wasn’t going to pay for the wall, prompting a rebuke from Mr. Trump, the GOP presidential nominee, during a February GOP debate.
