NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire emergency officials say two people are dead after the vehicle they were riding in went off the Circumferential Highway in Nashua and down an embankment where it caught fire.

The crash was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday.

Police say the vehicle was traveling at a high-rate of speed when the driver tried to exit the highway and went over the guardrails.

When Nashua Fire and Rescue crews arrived they found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, 30 to 40 feet below the level of the roadway.

The fire was quickly extinguished. The victims were found in the vehicle and declared dead at the scene.

The names of the victims have not been released. The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
