HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - An unusual coalition is joining forces once again, reconvening a summit on the future of Connecticut’s economy.
The Connecticut Conference of Municipalities, Connecticut Business and Industry Association and the Connecticut AFL-CIO have agreed to hold a second event on Nov. 14 at Foxwoods Resort and Casino to further brainstorm ideas and refine proposals to improve the state’s economic picture.
A select group of policy leaders and stakeholders from business, labor, education, government and social services are participating in the summit. They’ll be meeting in committees, working on ways to deliver effective and efficient state services, generating revenues and improving workforce development.
Democratic House Speaker Brendan Sharkey is scheduled to lead part of the discussion.
The meeting comes almost two months before the General Assembly convenes a new legislative session.
