PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Democratic Sen. Bernie Sanders refused to publicly repeat crude comments about women a decade ago by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump but said “Trump insults woman and more every single day.”

Speaking to a Saturday afternoon rally for Hillary Clinton supporters at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Sanders said he was too embarrassed to repeat some of the words Trump was recorded using in 2005.

Steering his speech instead toward economic and education issues, he said that Trump “objectifies” and “insults” women but he, Clinton and Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Katie McGinty “believe that we’ve got to end this disgrace in America where women are making 79 cents on the dollar compared to men.”

McGinty tackled Trump’s comments head-on, calling him a “lewd, lecherous lowlife.”
