GROTON, Conn. (AP) - The U.S. Navy in southeastern Connecticut is hosting its annual “Meet Your Navy” day this week in Groton.
The event Wednesday at the Historic Ship Nautilus and Submarine Force Museum will be set like a fair with local Navy commands highlighting what they do through information tables and demonstrations.
The displays are expected to include a Navy harbor security boat along with activities such as knot tying and an obstacle course.
A ceremony at noon will mark the Navy’s 241st birthday.
It is the third annual “Meet Your Navy” event for the local military commands.
