NEW YORK (AP) - David McCullough’s next book will find him on new ground.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning historian is working on “The Pioneers,” the story of the first settlers of the Northwest Territory. Simon & Schuster said Thursday the book is scheduled for 2019. According to the publisher, the narrative of “The Pioneers” will unfold through three generations of “extraordinary” families.
McCullough, 83, is among the country’s most beloved historians. His best-sellers include “John Adams,” ’’The Great Bridge” and “The Wright Brothers.” Earlier this month, the National Park Service made him an honorary park ranger in tribute to the park sites he’s featured in his work.
