FRANKLIN, N.H. (AP) - An industrial valve manufacturer in New Hampshire has agreed to pay a $112,000 fine to settle claims it violated the Clean Air Act.
The Concord Monitor reported (https://bit.ly/2dubtJ7 ) Wednesday that Watts Regulator Co. has signed an agreement with the Environmental Protection Agency to take steps to prevent hazardous air pollution.
Watts operates two foundry lines at its Franklin facility. The EPA says both lines are subject to National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants.
The EPA had filed a complaint saying Watts didn’t submit timely notifications and reports to the EPA for the foundry lines.
The complaint also says Watts didn’t do a performance test to make sure one of the lines met emissions requirements.
The company has since submitted the late foundry line reports and done the required testing.
