MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - More than a thousand people have signed an online petition from a Minneapolis drug counselor objecting to a drug-themed clothing line carried by Nordstrom.
The clothing and accessories by the Italian brand Moschino include dresses dotted with colorful pill capsules and handbags in the shape of prescription pill bottles. Opponents say the clothing glamorizes drug use and is inappropriate in light of the nation’s drug epidemic.
Counselor Randy Anderson is encouraging others to boycott the Nordstrom stores until the clothing line is removed. Anderson, who works at RS Eden in Minneapolis, says the drug-themed clothing is an insult to all the mothers who call him to say they lost a child from a prescription drug overdose.
The Star Tribune (https://strib.mn/2dIZi5F ) says Nordstrom doesn’t plan to remove the Capsule clothing line.
