MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A Haitian community in New Hampshire is worried about loved ones in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew, and they are holding a “Day of Haiti” fundraiser at their local church.

WMUR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2cSZCh3) the First Haitian Baptist Church of Manchester is gathering money, food and clothing donations on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Carl Jean-Baptist was born in Haiti and survived the 2010 earthquake at age 11. He and his family moved to Manchester two months later. Now, he wants to help his grandmother, uncles and cousins in Haiti.

At least 11 deaths had been blamed on the storm, five in Haiti. With a key bridge washed out, roads impassable and phone communications down, the western tip of Haiti was isolated with no word on dead and injured.
