LAS VEGAS (AP) - A funeral is scheduled Tuesday for longtime Nevada state court judge and Las Vegas attorney Carl Christensen, who died recently at age 86.

Christensen was a Clark County District Court judge for more than 22 years who kept working in law practice with his son, Tom Christensen, until he was 80.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2dEaupa ) that Carl Christensen died Sept. 23 of congestive heart failure at Southern Hills Hospital.

Christensen was lauded by former Clark County District Court Judge Valorie Vegas a as a mentor, and by Clark County Public Defender Philip Kohn as a gentleman and a jurist.

Services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on West Hacienda Avenue in Las Vegas, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
