NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - The Latest on a shooting at a Halloween party in Newburgh, New York, that left two people dead and others injured (all times local):

4 p.m.

Authorities say gunfire at a Halloween party in New York that killed two women also left five people injured.

Police say none of the wounded has life-threatening injuries. The dead women have been identified as 20-year-old Tabitha Cruz and 18-year-old Omani Free, both of Newburgh, 70 miles north of New York City.

The shooting happened shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday inside an apartment building. Authorities say they’re looking for a suspect or suspects, who fled the scene.

Free’s mother says the teen decided to go to the party at the last minute when a friend became available and otherwise would have been getting ready to go home around the time of the gunfire.

A shooting at a Halloween party in New York has killed two people, including a teenager who went with a friend. Several other people have been injured.

Rhonda Valentine-Free says her 18-year-old daughter, Omani Free, was one of those killed. She says her daughter had decided at the last minute to go to the party a short distance from their home in Newburgh, 70 miles north of New York City. She says her daughter otherwise would have been due home around the time the shooting took place.

The Newburgh Police Department says the shooting happened around 1 a.m. Sunday inside an apartment building.

Authorities say they’re looking for a suspect or suspects, who fled the scene. They haven’t released the names of the people who died.

Two people have been killed in an overnight shooting at a Halloween party in Newburgh, about 70 miles north of New York City. Several other people were injured.

The Newburgh Police Department said the shooting took place shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday inside an apartment building.

Authorities are looking for a suspect or suspects, who fled the scene.

The names of the deceased victims have not been released.

Media reports a large crowd was drawn to the party and at least one of the victims was 18
