BOSTON (AP) - Transit officials say a man dressed for Halloween assaulted a trolley operator allegedly because he didn’t have money for the fare.

WBZ-TV reports (https://cbsloc.al/2eXoOsd) that the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority says the man dragged the operator out of his trolley and beat him on the train platform at the Cedar Grove Station on the Mattapan Line early Sunday.

No arrests have been made.

The 45-year-old trolley operator told police the man was wearing a Halloween costume and mask and said he didn’t have money.

The operator says he was punched and pulled onto the train platform.

The station reports that the man fled after trolley passengers called for help.

The MBTA says the operator was treated and released from a local hospital.

They didn’t describe the Halloween costume.
