LAFAYETTE, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say a woman whose body was found in a blueberry field near the city of Lafayette died of homicidal violence.

The Yamhill County sheriff’s department said Monday the body was found shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday by people who were driving through the area.

The autopsy showing the cause of death as homicidal violence was done Monday by the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office.

The death does not appear to be connected to any report of a missing person.

The woman’s identity has not been released.

Authorities want to talk to anyone who saw anything suspicious Sunday in the area of Highway 99W near the city of Lafayette.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Yamhill County sheriff’s department.
