MELROSE, Mass. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a Melrose man was struck by a car and killed over the weekend.

The Boston Globe (https://bit.ly/2dDfdTC ) reports that 51-year-old John Strileckis was seriously injured in the city around 5:20 a.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Police say the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated.

A spokeswoman for the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office didn’t comment on whether charges will be brought against the driver.
