BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) - A 44-year-old Beaumont woman and her 25-year-old son have been identified as two of three people killed near the Lamar University campus in Beaumont when their car collided with a pickup truck police say had been stolen in Houston.
Beaumont police say their investigation of the fiery wreck early Sunday is continuing. The victims identified Monday include Bethany Ann Beck and Joshawa Keith Beck, both of Beaumont, and 25-year-old Damien Lavon Johnson, of Houston, who was in the truck. A second person in the truck is an 18-year-old hospitalized in Houston with life-threatening injuries.
Police say they’re not sure who was driving the truck since both occupants were ejected in the crash.
Officers arrived to find both vehicles sandwiched together and burning.
