MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) - Ryan Richards perfectly timed his interception of a swing pass at the line of scrimmage, returning the pick 75 yards untouched for a touchdown and Robert Morris stymied Central Connecticut State 19-6 in Northeast Conference play on Saturday.

Earlier, linebacker Gerald Ferguson tackled CCSU’s Cameron Nash in the end zone for a safety, giving the Colonials a 2-0 lead. Offensively for Robert Morris (2-7, 1-3), Malik Wells scored on a 6-yard run and Connor Shennan kicked a career-long 47-yard field goal.

Nash punched across from the 1 to cap a 10-play drive that put CCSU on the board with 4:32 left to play, but a two-point conversion failed. The Blue Devils (1-7, 0-3) had been threatening early in the quarter before Jacob Dolegala’s pass was intercepted by Richards. The sophomore went 30 for 50 for 253 yards with two interceptions.

Robert Morris had fewer yards on offense, but forced four turnovers.
