Donald Trump has settled at least one lingering question of the 2016 race, confirming this week that he is saying “big league,” not “bigly,” as a point of emphasis when he thinks something is happening in a big way.

“Bigly or big league?” interviewer Raymond Arroyo of the Catholic news agency EWTN asked Mr. Trump in an interview broadcast this week.

“Now let me ask you: You’re talking about for me?” Mr. Trump asked.

“When you’re speaking on the podium and you say, ’this is …’ ” Mr. Arroyo said.

“I use big league,” Mr. Trump said.

Mr. Arroyo then opened a notecard to reveal that’s what he had predicted.

“I was right — big league. You’ve settled it,” he said.

“OK, thank you,” Mr. Trump said.
