Donald Trump, the oracle.

Yes, he was mocked by the mainstream media at the time — but his analysis seems to be spot-on.

The press release from Mr. Trump, dated Aug. 29, speculated whether Anthony Weiner could be a national security risk, given his proximity to Huma Abedin, one of Hillary Clinton’s closest advisers. Ms. Abedin and Mr. Weiner had just announced their separation.

“Huma is making a very wise decision,” Mr. Trump said. “I know Anthony Weiner well, and she will be far better off without him. I only worry for the country in that Hillary Clinton was careless and negligent in allowing Weiner to have such close proximity to highly classified information. Who knows what he learned and who he told? It’s just another example of Hillary Clinton’s bad judgment. It is possible that our country and its security have been greatly compromised by this.”

Indeed.

The FBI reopened its investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s private email server Friday — based on information discovered during an investigation into Mr. Weiner’s sexting, according to a report from The New York Times.

Hollywood producers couldn’t dream this stuff up. But Mr. Trump had a pretty good idea how it would all play out in August.
