MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Hillary Clinton is going up on the air in Wisconsin for the first time in the general election.
Her campaign says the ads that start Monday in Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay are designed to help down ballot Democrats like former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold.
But Trump’s campaign manager in Wisconsin says the ads show Clinton sees the race tightening in the state. Pete Meachum says Democrats are “hitting the panic button on Russ Feingold and Hillary Clinton.”
Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine was to campaign in Wisconsin on Tuesday, his first appearance in Wisconsin since August. Clinton has yet to make a general election campaign stop.
Polls have consistently shown Clinton with a lead over Donald Trump in Wisconsin.
The ad buy was at least $100,000, but Clinton’s campaign did not release the exact amount.
