DETROIT (AP) - Some Detroit community leaders are getting training on systemic racism and the effects on relations with police, the educational system and inequality.
A seminar takes place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Marygrove College Student Center in Detroit. A public forum follows at 6:30 p.m.
Training will be done by Bree Carlson of National People’s Action. National People’s Action is a network of grassroots organizations advocating economic and racial justice.
The forum is hosted by a number of organizations, including the Michigan United Detroit Pastoral Alliance for Change and Marygrove College’s Social Justice Department.
