Thanks to a partnership with Passport Health, car-hailing app Uber was giving users in a few select cities, including the District of Columbia, a free flu shot on Tuesday.
“This flu season, we’re delivering free flu-fighting care packages across the country,” the San Francisco-based company said in a Monday news release. “When you receive a pack, you’ll have the option to request a free flu shot from a registered nurse–for up to 5 people.”
Uber did a similar free vaccine program in November 2015, when it offered free flu shots for up to 10 people per request.
“You’ll get a free care package and the option to receive the Fluzone® vaccine for up to five people,” said Uber. “Pick a comfy spot and a registered nurse from Passport Health will administer the shot and handle all paperwork.”
“This partnership with Uber allows us to vaccinate people in an innovative way, which makes it intriguing for the patient and a lot of fun for our nurses,” Passport COO Paul Fishburn was quoted in a company blog post on Monday.
