NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire police say the body pulled out of a river in Massachusetts has been identified as a teenager reported missing.

Nashua Police Department officials say it has received confirmation from the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that the body recovered from the Merrimack River in Tyngsborough on Sunday has been positively identified as 16-year-old Jacob Goulet, of Nashua.

Police said autopsy results are pending.

A Massachusetts State Police helicopter had discovered the body.

Goulet’s parents reported him missing Saturday. Police had received a report Friday about some personal items found near an open storm drain. Authorities believe he fell down the drain during heavy rain.
