WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A 36-year-old Newark man has been arrested in a deadly shooting that happened in Wilmington more than six years ago.
The News Journal reports (https://delonline.us/2f8cl5l) Wilmington police spokeswoman Sgt. Andrea Janvier says Erick McNeely has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Abel Jimenez-Flores.
Jimenez-Flores was found shot to death in May 2010. Police reports then said the victim may have been shot after a dispute.
McNeely, who had been at large since the shooting, was one of six people indicted in December in connection with five homicides.
Before the indictment, court records show he faced several drug charges in Cecil County, Maryland, where Janvier says he was extradited from Thursday. McNeely also faces first-degree murder charges.
It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
