MANDAREE, N.D. (AP) - A rollover crash near Mandaree has left one woman dead and caused the spill of a fluid used by the oil industry during the drilling process.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the incident happened around 12:15 a.m. Friday, when 24-year-old Dickinson resident Justin Killough lost control of the semi he was driving on Highway 22. The vehicle rolled and entered the ditch. The tanker trailer then separated from the semi.
Killough and passenger Robyn Holzkamm were ejected during the crash. Killough was taken to a hospital, while the 23-year-old Holzkamm, of Reeder, died at the scene.
The tanker trailer was loaded with invert, a fluid used during the drilling process. The Highway Patrol says the tanker trailer leaked at the crash scene, but the spill has been contained.
