AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - The Northern New England Rail Authority is hosting an open house on its new train layover facility in Brunswick.

The authority will begin stowing overnight trains in the facility on Nov. 21.

Saturday’s event gives the public an opportunity to see the facility that goes online next month with three tracks, offices and locker rooms.

Construction on the layover barn began in October 2015 and it’s essentially complete. The new facility will allow the early trains from Brunswick to be kept overnight there, instead of being brought up empty from Portland to start the day.
