Police: Hiker finds human remains in Vermont woods

MIDDLEBURY, Vermont (AP) - Police are investigating the discovery of human remains by a hiker in Middlebury, Vermont.

The Burlington Free Press reports (https://bfpne.ws/2etIaSm) the hiker called police Friday to report finding a body in the woods.

Investigators responded to the scene.

Police Chief Thomas Hanley said no information was being released as to the cause and manner of death, nor identification of the remains.
