LAS VEGAS (AP) - Thousands of people are taking advantage of Nevada’s first day of early voting.
Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin says more than 26,700 voters cast ballots by 3 p.m. Saturday.
Dozens of people waited in line at supermarkets, community centers and other polling sites. Many say they just wanted to get voting out of the way.
The turnout so far is below the first day of early voting in the 2012 general election.
According to Kulin, more than 33,000 people voted that day.
In-person early voting is open to registered voters until Nov. 4.
Polls show the races for president and a Senate seat are tight in Nevada.
President Barack Obama is expected to arrive in Las Vegas Sunday to stump for Hillary Clinton and encourage early voting.
