Democrat Hillary Clinton maintained the lead that she carried into the final presidential debate with Republican Donald Trump, according to a new poll.
A Politico/Morning Consult survey showed Mrs. Clinton leads Mr. Trump by a 42 percent to 36 percent margin, followed by 9 percent for Libertarian Gary Johnson and 4 percent for Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
The poll also found 43 percent of registered voters believed the Democrat won the third debate compared to 26 percent who believe the Republican won the showdown.
Nearly seven in 10 voters also said that whoever loses the race should accept the results of the election and 14 percent said they should not, after Mr. Trump said this week that he will reserve the right to challenge the results — unless he wins.
