ELSMERE, Del. (AP) - A popular New Castle County bakery that was badly damaged in a Christmas Eve fire has filed a lawsuit against the company that installed its oven, arguing that the oven was at fault for the blaze.

The News Journal of Wilmington (https://delonline.us/2emz7Hh ) reports that Serpe & Sons Bakery filed a lawsuit earlier this month against G. Cinelli-Esperia Corp., a Canadian bakery equipment manufacturer.

The Elsmere bakery’s website says the bakery is being rebuilt on the same location and is expected to open this month.

The lawsuit says the bakery bought a revolving-type baking oven from Cinelli in 2012 after being assured it could be used to bake food inside a commercial bakery. The lawsuit seeks over $100,000 in damages.

The newspaper could not immediately reach a Cinelli representative for comment.
