O’FALLON, Mo. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump may not say if he’ll accept election results if he loses, but incumbent Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri has a simple answer when asked if he will: “Of course.”

Blunt, a Republican, is in a fierce re-election battle with Democrat Jason Kander.

Blunt’s fellow Missouri Republican, gubernatorial candidate Eric Greitens, declined to comment.

Trump has raised the issue of a “rigged” presidential election and refused to say during Wednesday’s debate if he would accept the results if he loses.

Blunt, speaking after a campaign rally Thursday in the St. Louis suburb of O’Fallon, said he has faith in the nation’s election system. He quickly dismissed a question about whether he would accept results of his own race, saying, “Sure. Sure. Of course I will.”
