DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will headline next year’s annual air show in southwest Ohio.

Officials with the Vectren Dayton Air Show say the Thunderbirds will fly six F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets at speeds of up to 700 miles per hour. Other performers for the 2017 show include the GEICO Skytypers Team, Rob Holland Ultimate Air Shows and Redline Airshows Aerobatic Team.

The Skytypers will create aerial smoke messages and perform a flying demonstration using North American SNJ-2 World War II aircraft to perform many of the maneuvers that were taught to pilots training for World War II combat.

The annual show presented by Kroger Co. is scheduled for June 24 and June 25 at Dayton International Airport. The event typically draws thousands of spectators.
