DETROIT (AP) - Two federal grants are coming to Detroit to help bring automotive manufacturing jobs back to the city.

Mayor Mike Duggan and Assistant Commerce Secretary Jay Williams are expected on Monday to announce the Economic Development Administration grants.

The announcement will be made in the new LINC logistics facility on the city’s east side.

Preparing city residents for jobs and finding work for them has been one of Duggan’s priorities. Last month, the city announced a program designed to train residents for careers in construction and skilled trades. The program is being developed by the Detroit Employment Solutions Corp., the city’s workforce agency.

The city’s Grow Detroit’s Young Talent employment initiative found summer jobs this year for thousands of youth and young adults.
