Hillary Clinton accused Donald Trump of hiring illegal immigrants for his own businesses, and said he “choked” in his meeting with the Mexican president over building a border wall, as the two presidential candidates faced off in their third debate Wednesday.

Ripping the scab off one of the touchiest issues of the last decade, Mrs. Clinton said Mr. Trump went to Mexico City to try to get that government to pay for his wall, but failed to win any concessions.

“He choked,” Mrs. Clinton said.

But Mr. Trump countered that Mrs. Clinton herself voted for a border fence in 2006 — but it didn’t happen.

“She never gets anything done, so naturally the wall wasn’t built,” Mr. Trump said.
