CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire officials say the state’s unemployment rate went down slightly in September, to 2.9 percent.
The state employment security office says the preliminary seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is down a tenth of a percentage point from the August rate of 3 percent.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for September 2015 was 3.3 percent.
The state estimates that 735,140 people were employed last month, an increase of 620 from the previous month and an increase of 17,910 from September 2015.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for September was 5 percent, an increase of a tenth of a percentage point from the August rate. It was a decrease of one tenth of a percentage point from September 2015.
