Pat Smith, the mother of Benghazi terror victim Sean Smith, plans on attending the third and final presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Smith, U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, and CIA contractors Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods died on Sept. 11, 2012, during a terror attack on a U.S. consulate and a nearby CIA annex in Libya. Wednesday’s debate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will allow the foreign service officer’s mother to get an up-close view Mrs. Clinton, whom she blames for his death.
“I think I’m going to be in the front row. But I’m not sure,” Mrs. Smith told Yahoo News on Monday.
Mrs. Smith spoke during the Republican Party’s convention in Cleveland, Ohio, on July 18. She told roughly 10 million people watching on national television that the former secretary of state blamed “a video” for Smith’s death inside Libya.
“Since then, I have repeatedly asked Hillary Clinton to explain to me the real reason why my son is dead,” Mrs. Smith said July 18, The Washington Times reported. “I’m still waiting. Hillary Clinton is a woman, a mother and a grandmother of two. I am a woman, a mother and a grandmother of two. How could she do this to me?”
Mrs. Clinton said during a March 9 primary debate for the Democratic Party that Mrs. Smith was “absolutely wrong” regarding the details of their conversation.
Fox News’ Chris Wallace will moderate Wednesday’s debate, which begins at 9 p.m. EST. In addition to Fox News Channel’s coverage, viewers can also tune in via live YouTube streams for CBS News, NBC News, PBS, C-SPAN, Univision and Telemundo.
