DETROIT (AP) - An explosion as part of an art project in Detroit ended up drawing firefighters after people living nearby became concerned.

The Detroit News reports (https://detne.ws/2dYilfB ) the fire department responded Sunday to the site of the “Deconstruct: America” project, but determined it was a false alarm.

Matthew Naimi of Detroit says those involved built a small house out of material collected from a recycling center and recorded video while it was blown up. Naimi says he had let the fire department know what was going on ahead of time, but they still ended up being called.

The work in Detroit was part of a 48-hour collaborative art project taking place across the U.S. that ended on Sunday.
