MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - A suburban Atlanta high school teacher accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student has been denied bond.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/2dJF7EP ) reports that Christopher Brown was denied bond Monday after he turned himself into authorities last week. The 37-year-old Brown taught physics, chemistry and computer science at Mount Paran High School in Kennesaw before he was fired Oct. 4.

Marietta Police spokeswoman officer Brittany Wallace says Brown was charged with sexual assault stemming from the July incident with the 17-year-old. He is also accused of kissing a 15-year-off Roswell High School student.

An arrest warrant states Brown, who is married, met the 15-year-old at Starbucks and drove to a nearby park where the two kissed last month. Police say Brown was the student’s tutor.

It’s not clear if Brown has an attorney.
