Two non-offensive touchdowns put the Philadelphia Eagles right back into the Week 6 matchup against the Washington Redskins, but a late Matt Jones touchdown put the Redskins up 21-14 at the half.

The Redskins took a 14-0 lead after a 13-yard touchdown pass to tight end Vernon Davis. But, following the touchdown, Davis was flagged for excessive celebration. Davis threw the ball like he was shooting a free throw. The 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was added to the ensuing kick off.

Eagles returner Wendell Smallwood returned the kick 86 yards for the Eagles’ first score of the day.

The next possession, Kirk Cousins was pressured into throwing a risky pass to Davis. The pass was intercepted by safety Malcolm Jenkins for a 64-yard touchdown.

The next drive, the Redskins went 75 yards on 13 plays, capping off the drive with a one-yard Jones touchdown.

Offensively, the Redskins have been moving the ball on the ground, primarily behind Robert Kelley. Kelley took his first carry of the day for a 45-yard gain.

Through the first half, Kelley has 57 rushing yards. Matt Jones has 48 yards of his own, and Chris Thompson has added 21 yards on the ground.

Through the first half, Cousins has completed 12 of his 20 passes for 159 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Eagles’ quarterback Carson Wentz has struggled, completing just three of his eight pass attempts for 28 yards.
