WikiLeaks on Saturday published purported transcripts of paid speeches Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton gave to Goldman Sachs in 2013.
The transcripts appear as attachments included in an email apparently sent to several members of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign by its research director Tony Carrk on Jan. 23, 2016.
The subject line of the email is “Goldman Sachs paid speeches,” and recipients include John Podesta, the chairman of Mrs. Clinton presidential campaign who has seen his personal correspondence steadily published by WikiLeaks in recent days after having his email account compromised by hackers.
“The 3 (I misspoke about 5 earlier) speeches to Goldman are attached with some parts highlighted,” Mr. Carrk purportedly wrote in the email.
Those attachments consist of transcripts that appear to be of speeches Mrs. Clinton gave at three separate events held by Goldman Sachs after her term as secretary of state ended and before she officially announced her White House run. The authenticity of the documents could not immediately be verified.
Mrs. Clinton’s Republican rival, Donald Trump, has repeatedly called on his Democratic opponent to publish transcripts of her paid speeches.
Mr. Podesta said earlier in the week that he has spoken to the FBI in the aftermath of being hacked, and suspects the breach was accomplished as part of a state-sponsored cyber campaign allegedly being waged against the U.S. by Russia.
