MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - A former teacher at Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw wanted for sexual assault has surrendered to Cobb County authorities.

Authorities said Christopher Brown, 37, turned himself into sheriff’s deputies late Friday. He faces charges in Marietta of sexual assault by a teacher and influencing a witness. Marietta police told The Atlanta-Journal Constitution on Saturday (https://on-ajc.com/2dVMNJK ) that Brown is being held at the Cobb County jail.

There was no attorney of record listed for Brown. Bond was set at $55,220.

Brown, of Marietta, allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old Mount Paran student in late July. Marietta police learned of that alleged incident from police in Roswell, where authorities say Brown is accused of kissing a 15-year-old student.

Brown was fired Oct. 4. Mount Paran Headmaster Dr. David Tilley says Brown had worked at the school for a year teaching physics, chemistry and computer science.
