COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The national championship trophy won by the Cleveland Cavaliers is taking a victory lap around the state ahead of the beginning of the NBA regular season.
The Larry O’Brien championship trophy arrives at the Ohio Statehouse Tuesday at an event allowing fans to get an up-close picture.
The visit is part of a tour with scheduled stops in Akron, Canton and Youngstown before the regular season begins Oct. 25.
The Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors in June, completing the biggest comeback in NBA history and ending Cleveland’s 52-year championship drought.
