PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona National Guard is sending more than two dozen soldiers to Afghanistan.
The Guard says members of the 159th Finance Detachment will get a send-off ceremony Saturday afternoon at the Petty Crew Armory in Phoenix.
They will be overseas for approximately nine months.
Maj. Gen. Michael McGuire, Arizona’s adjutant general, will give keynote remarks to soldiers and family members.
The soldiers will serve as contracting and commercial vendor services support, dispensing and funding support.
The Guard says they are some of the few remaining Guard members serving on federal active duty overseas.
