BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Work crews have put the finishing touches on four new interstate bridges near Buffalo.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration said the four spans on Interstate 290 opened Friday. The bridges carry interstate traffic going in both directions over local streets in the town of Tonawanda.
The $14.2 million project also involved the reconstruction of a portion of the interstate.
Cuomo, a Democrat, says the work is part of $21 billion in overall investments to ensure the state’s bridges and highways remain in good working order, something he said is vital to western New York’s economic future.
