OPINION:
How does Hillary Clinton and her gang not love you? Let me count the ways: Standard rednecks. Deplorable. Irredeemable. Not American. Needy Latinos. The mocking of Catholics and Evangelicals, and Southerners. And let’s not forget those poor Bernie Sanders-supporting basement dwellers.
The exposure of the Clinton campaign’s rank bigotry would be one of the biggest news stories of a presidential campaign if many in the legacy media weren’t also colluding with the campaign itself, as revealed by WikiLeaks. Because you can help a campaign not by what you do report, but also by what you don’t report.
After a week of being told 24/7 that the biggest story in the world was that Donald Trump had no respect for anyone, strangely enough Bill and Hillary Clinton were proving that was actually their problem. Various WikiLeaks dumps also provided the most enlightening window into the appalling bigotry of the miserable bunch that is the Hillary Clinton campaign.
While a cigar and a blue dress were missing from former President Bill Clinton’s gathering in Fort Myers, Florida, for his wife’s campaign, Mr. Clinton did have a choice description for Donald Trump supporters —”standard rednecks.” The Washington Examiner reported his remarks:
“The other guy’s base is what I grew up in,” the former president said during the campaign stop. “You know, I’m basically your standard redneck.”
“[S]he said, ’There’s no way that we can carry [West Virginia],’ and I said, ’No way. First of all, [West Virginians] only watch Fox News,” he added to laughter. “But to be fair they think we only care our political base and the people that agree with us culturally. And it’s not true, but that’s what they think.”
So Mr. Clinton describes his wife’s “basket of deplorables” as not only rednecks, but stupid, Fox-watching sheeple.
He sounds nice.
Then there are the remarkable emails involving Clinton campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri and John Halpin of the Center for American Progress bashing Catholics and mocking them as pretentious ignoramuses. Someone should tell them projection isn’t just a thing opera singers do.
They also attack Rupert Murdoch and his children for being Catholic then indulge in a wholesale bashing of conservative Catholics in general:
“It’s an amazing bastardization of the faith. They must be attracted to the systematic thought and severely backwards gender relations and must be totally unaware of Christian democracy,” Mr. Halpin said as reported by The Washington Times. “I imagine they think it is the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion. Their rich friends wouldn’t understand if they become evangelicals,” Ms. Palmieri responded.
Liberals. Judging and condemning others for being different. Weird how they constantly accuse others of doing exactly that. Through WikiLeaks we learned Mrs. Clinton declared Sen. Bernard Sanders’ supporters “basement dwellers,” other campaign officials calling them self-righteous whiners, while her campaign chair John Podesta himself whined about how to get the involvement of influential Democratic “needy Latinos” in her campaign.
Mrs. Clinton keeps talking about how she wants to bring all of us together. At this rate, my worry is she means as in a big new stew. With a few carrots thrown in.
The utter contempt Mrs. Clinton and her team have for, well, everyone, isn’t really a surprise, but it’s important for everyone to see. Now until Election Day, the media will essentially ignore Mrs. Clinton. And when they do have to bring her up, they’ll make sure she’s dressed at the Good Witch Glenda.
The media is at war, however, and it’s with Mr. Trump. In order to help hide the ugliness of Mrs. Clinton and her enablers, her campaign and legacy media are determined to make you believe that Mr. Trump is an awful, awful, awful role model for women.
Last time I checked, parents were supposed to be the role models for their children, but alas Mr. Trump, we are hectored, says things about women we don’t like so he’s too dangerous for the White House.
A very good example of how important it is to have a man in the White House who sounds nice and doesn’t upset people with crude talk is provided by our very own President Obama.
Oh sure, we have a zombie terrorist army roaming the world, ISIS devotees murdering people and targeting women and girls in American malls, police being murdered in the street, hundreds of thousands of Syrian economic migrants being shipped into the country, open borders, an Iran-sponsored terror group firing missiles at our battle ships, at least 70,000 sex offenses attached to the incarcerated criminal alien population, stagnant wages, no jobs for college graduates, a dramatically shrinking middle-class, no foreign policy, no willingness to confront the enemies of humanity, and certainly no intention of ever actually naming the enemy itself, the replacement of health care with unaffordable health insurance, and 3.7 million more women in poverty since Mr. Obama took office, with last year seeing more women living in poverty than in the last 20 years.
Yet according to the liberal bigots who have foisted this nightmare upon us, the real worry for women and Americans in general is that we might be offended by something Mr. Trump says. That lie isn’t in WikiLeaks, it’s on the Hillary News Networks every night.
